Top TV Song Last Week: Start A Riot by BANNERS

Last week’s top TV song was “Start A Riot” by Banners, featured on season 2 episode 18 of Lucifer. Featured during a series of scenes just prior to the end of the episode, viewers were eagerly hunting down both this song and an unreleased song by Milck featured in the final montage.

We first discovered “Start A Riot” in 2015 when it was featured in an episode of Made in Chelsea, but under the artist name Raines (since changed to Banners). The song made it’s first appearance at the top of Tunefind’s chart after music supervisor Lindsay Wolfington used the song to soundtrack the final montage of the season 2 premiere of The Royals in November of 2015.

Banners has a number of other sync hits, but his song “Half Light,” also featured on The Royals, was definitely a fan favorite, claiming the #6 spot on our chart tracking the top TV songs of 2016. An unreleased song co-written by Bastille’s Dan Smith, Wolfington had Banners record the song especially for The Royals and released it on the show’s soundtrack.
