Top TV songs in August also includes music from Jazmine Sullivan & Bryson Tiller, 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, Michael Kiwanuka, Roman GianArthur, Rico Nasty, Alt-J, Nick Hakim, Glass Animals, and Santigold.
HBO’s Insecure continues to dominate the top TV songs chart compiled by THR, claiming 5 of the spots in August. No surprises there. Here at Tunefind, we provide data for the THR chart and – just like last month – we predicted Insecure (music supervisor: Kier Lehman) would have a strong showing in August chart after lighting up our weekly charts ever since the season 2 premiere.
Netflix series Atypical (music supervisor: Andy Gowan) also had a strong showing, with 3 songs in the top 10, thanks to binge-watching fans of the new show.
Rounding out the top ten were entries from HBO’s Ballers (music supervisor: Scott Vener) with a track from 21 Savage and USA’s Suits (music supervisor: Oliver Hild) with the title track off Michael Kiwanuka’s album Love & Hate.
Kiwanuka’s name will be familiar to fans of Big Little Lies, who heard his haunting track “Cold Little Heart” play over the opening credits for the show. Big Little Lies music supervisor Susan Jacobs was recently honored with the first ever Emmy for Outstanding Music Supervision.
