Netflix seems to be dominating our viewing right now, and season 4 of Black Mirror gives us Tunefind’s top TV song last week:
The track is used several times throughout Black Mirror’s S4E3: Crocodile to help characters remember an accident that took place. No spoilers here, for the many of you still making your way through the new episodes.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the trippy British anthology series has featured this particular track as the series explored how technology impacts our lives. Three other episodes have tapped into this sad reflection on complicated love by the “Soul Queen of New Orleans.”
Perhaps not as well known as some of her contemporaries, being featured in film and television shows is helping a whole new audience connect with Thomas’ music. Fans of Six Feet Under, Treme, New Girl, Queen Sugar, and Big Little Lies – and Black Mirror, of course – will all recognize Thomas’ soulful tones. Explore more music by Irma Thomas.
