Hard Times (feat. Congratulationz)

by Vision Vision

from Season 6 · Episode 2 · The Corsican

Red being caught by police while Liz talks with he…

At the end of last week’s episode, Raymond ‘Red’ Reddington and Liz sit in his holding cell. He confides in her his theory about the orchestration of his arrest. Red charges Liz with finding the person, or persons, responsible as the intro to ‘Hard Times’ marches in.

Continuing as Red is transported by police to the Department of Corrections, the percussions persist. Accompanied by aptly placed lyrics, Liz and her sister discuss Red’s arrest and the potential backlash. The chanting refrain, ‘I see hard times coming,’ carries into Red’s arrival at prison and foreshadows the inevitable consequence of his retribution.

Vision Vision is a collaborative project with composers and songwriters Danny Burke and Sean Van Vleet. Burke has worked with In The Groove Music writing for television, film, and commercial music and has had countless features across all platforms. Sean Van Vleet has had over 70 song placements across the same platforms as Burke and is the main collaborator for the experimental indie pop group, NVDES. Van Vleet is also the former writer and lead singer of the indie rock band, Empires.

Vision Vision came together, “during a California blood moon,” according to Danny Burke, “the project was born out of a coincidental shared waking dream.” The Vision Vision song ‘Hard Times’ features Congratulationz, the pseudonym of producer/songwriter Andrew Heringer, formerly of indie pop band, Milo Greene.

Vision Vision has had multiple song placements on Lucifer and Congratulationz can be heard in Grey’s Anatomy and Shameless.
