A brand new artist collaboration claims the top spot on Tunefind’s most popular TV music chart last week, thanks to a key placement on an emotional episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
Near the end of the episode, a montage is shown with the anthem-style of ‘Lifted’ joining in. Tom and Teddy talk, Jo checks on her patient, Richard watches Meredith sleep and then he talks to Jackson. Last week’s episode, titled “Fight the Power”, focuses on fighting and features empowering songs like ‘Lifted’.
The single was released on December 9th, the first release from TRVSTFALL. A new name for fans seeking out the song, TRVSTFALL is a brand new side project from two music industry veterans: American producer/songwriter AG and Canadian indie folk band Reuben and the Dark. Lead singer Reuben Bullock and AG wrote the song together.
“I wanted to specifically write something uplifting. We both did. Something that felt universal and full of hope,” Bullock shared with Tunefind. “AG started playing some piano chords (the way most of our sessions start) and the chorus just came out so naturally. This song feels like the right kind of anthem for the times we are living in right now.”
While TRVSTFALL is a new moniker, AG and Reuben and the Dark have collaborated before, with TV and film placements under those artist names in Greys, Elementary, and also the trailer for the film Dolittle.
LA-based producer / Grammy-nominated songwriter / mix engineer AG is a powerhouse, working with artists such as Christina Perri, Aloe Blacc, Lissie, and Deap Vally. With 450+ song placements to date, AG has become one of the most prolific female producers in the world of film and TV. Her work has been featured in numerous trailers and ad campaigns, as well as television shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Riverdale, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and The Blacklist, and in films such as Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw and The Last Witch Hunter. AG’s catalog has generated over 270 million Spotify streams and 320 million views on Youtube.
Reuben Bullock leads the Calgary-bred folk-rock band Reuben and the Dark, known for their introspective lyrics and heartfelt harmonies. With friendships dating back to early childhood, band members include Shea Alain (guitar/keys), Brock Geiger (guitar/keys), Ian Jarvis (bass), and Brendan ‘Dino’ Soares (drums). Their emotional and anthemic music has been featured in many television shows including The Originals, Batwoman, and a track off their latest album, un | love, is featured in Netflix’s Tiny Pretty Things. Reuben and the Dark film trailer placements include The Highwaymen and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.
