Top TV Song Last Week: Fix You by Fearless Soul

The Hulu hit series The Handmaid’s Tale featured the most popular song last week. Regularly using an eclectic mix of songs, the top TV song is a cover of a popular rock anthem in a long-awaited scene.

In the aftermath of the explosion amongst the ash, June calls out for Janine. ‘Fix You’ covered by Fearless Soul continues to crescendo through the end credits. 

“None of us had ever heard it before,” shared music supervisor Maggie Phillips about the cover song placement in The Handmaid’s Tale. She continued, “Our editor threw this in last minute and the producers fell in love with it.”

“This is one of those spots where we tried out what felt like hundreds of songs,” Phillips explained. “Showrunner Bruce Miller really wanted something super emotional and tear-jerking.”

‘Fix You’ was originally written and performed by Coldplay. It was released on their third studio album X&Y in 2005. ‘Fix You’ by Fearless Soul is the first track from the 2021 album Cover Sessions. Fearless Soul has been releasing albums since 2016 with a focus on spirituality, motivation, and inspiration. Fearless Soul has released numerous singles in the past three years.
