Top TV Song Last Week: Moved by LACES

The second part of Lucifer season 5 was released on Friday and has already had a near take over of Tunefind’s most popular music chart. The first episode features an emotive track from an artist who is also no stranger to the top of sync placements.

Lucifer and Chloe have a conversation about the…

At the end of the season’s return, an aerial view of the illuminated fountains finds Lucifer drinking at the water’s edge as a somber instrumental begins. Chloe approaches Lucifer and explains her realization about the case and their relationship. The heartbreaking melody backdrops Chloe’s apology and Lucifer’s own realization explained. A piercing vocal cuts through the sadness of Lucifer’s powerful honesty. The song ends with a pan out to the fountains and the end credits.

“I was beyond excited to find this song while I was working on the pitch for this scene,” shares Lucifer music supervisor Justin Kamps. “The lyrics to ‘Moved’ were so shockingly perfect for the scene that I almost couldn’t believe it.”

“LACES is the amazing Jessica Vaughn who has been popping up in major sync moments all over the place lately. She is just so good at crafting beautiful songs that fit right into these intensely romantic and heartbreaking moments.” Kamps continued. “This song needs to be on everyone’s lovesick playlists IMMEDIATELY.  Don’t be surprised if you hear LACES again before everything’s said and done…”

Kamps is most likely referring to the official announcement that Lucifer will not end at season 5 as everyone previously expected. The persistent Lucifans have pushed hard for the continuation of the Netflix-revived series and Lucifer will return for a sixth and final season. The release date for the series finale is yet to be confirmed, but as always Tunefind will be tracking all the songs in the Lucifer soundtrack.

Jessica Vaughn–also known as LACES, amongst other project names–also shared her excitement for the Lucifer placement on Instagram. She stated, “I have been waiting for this moment for what has felt like FOREVER! When I wrote ‘moved’ I was so inspired by Lucifer and Chloe’s relationship and then interweaved my own story into it. To now have this special song that Garen and created play a small role in one of my favorite shows is so exciting! Big thanks to all that helped make this happen. AHHHH!”

‘Moved’ was released as a single in May 2019. This song has also been featured in season 2 of the CW’s Charmed. Another of Jessica Vaughn’s musical projects previously had the most popular song with a placement in Bridgerton.

Jessica Vaughn works in L.A. and pens songs under her many monikers–main project LACES, Charlotte Sometimes, and JPOLND–and for other artists as well. Vaughn is the founder and leader of multi-service hive Head Bitch Music.
