‘Too Late’ is heard near the end of the episode when Kevin is walking with flowers, looking for Jemma.
“I wrote ‘Too Late’ with music producer Yxshua and my writing partner Flow (Jeffrey Anderson) almost 3 years ago,” Penzillathegreat shared with Tunefind. The single was released this year. Penzilla continued, “I sent it to Derryck “Big Tank” Thornton (music supervisor) and he found the perfect scene for it in The Chi.”
Penzillathegreat is a moniker for Francci Richard. Penzilla is an LA-based, multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and vocal producer. She has written for R&B artists like Keyshia Cole and Leela James to EDM artists like David Guetta and Diplo. She has also written songs for many TV shows including Power Book II: Ghost, Cherish The Day, and The Chi.
Penzilla is overwhelmed by all the love the placement is receiving and said, “My DMs have been blowing up ever since it aired!” She is currently writing songs for 50 Cent’s highly anticipated TV series BMF, Twenties, and Power Book IV.
