The brass instrumental intro begins as Rue steals jewelry from the house. Rue tries to break into the safe as the lyrics begin. The music abruptly stops as the homeowners return and Rue hides. The song is heard again as Rue escapes.
‘Fever’ was released on the 2007 various artists album Zealous Records Presents: Soul Sides, Vol. 2: The Covers – EP. Sharon Cash originally released the song on her 1970 vinyl album He Lives Within My Soul. ‘Fever’ was written by Eddie Cooley and Otis Blackwell (pseudonym John Davenport) and originally recorded by American singer Little Willie John in 1956.
Sharon Cash is a soul singer from the 1970s, but there’s not much information available about her career. ‘Fever’ has been recorded by other notable artists such as Peggy Lee, Elvis Presley, Madonna, Beyoncé and many more. This is Sharon Cash’s first placement on Tunefind.
